How to plan a task

A task is work that you plan for a given day, for example an inspection or a feeding. You add a task on the apiary or hive screen, in the Tasks tab. A task can repeat every week, every 2 weeks, every month or every quarter.

How to add a task for the whole apiary or for selected hives

  1. Open the apiary.
  2. Tap Add and select Task. You can also go to the Tasks tab and tap Add.
  3. In the Scope field, select Apiary or Selected hives. With Selected hives, tick the hives in the list.
  4. In the Task field, type the task name.
  5. Select the Task date.
  6. Tap Save. The app shows Task added.

A task with the scope Apiary shows in all hives of the apiary. A task with the scope Selected hives shows only in the hives that you ticked.

How to add a task for one hive

  1. Open the hive and go to the Tasks tab.
  2. Tap Add.
  3. Type the name in the Task field and select the Task date. There is no Scope field here: the task is for this hive.
  4. Tap Save. The app shows Task added and The task has been added to the calendar.

You can also open the Task calendar in the Tasks tab and tap a day. The app opens a new task with that date.

How to set a recurring task

  1. In the Add task form, turn on the Repeat task switch.
  2. Select the frequency: Weekly, Every 2 weeks, Monthly or Quarterly.
  3. Select the Task end date. The series can last a maximum of one year from the first task.
  4. Tap Save.

The app makes a separate task for each date in the series. You edit and delete each task in the series separately.

Good to know

  • A task has no time. It has only a date.
  • There are no reminder settings in the app. The task reminder comes as a push notification.
  • There is no shared list of tasks from all apiaries. You see the tasks in each apiary and in each hive separately.
  • For a frequency that is not one of the four options (for example, every 7 days for 6 weeks), use Weekly with an end date.
  • You cannot change the scope and the repetition after you save. If you must change them, delete the task and add a new one.

When something does not work

  • Please enter a task name: the Task field is empty.
  • Select at least one hive: with Selected hives, no hive is ticked.
  • Please select an end date for recurring task: the series has no end date.
  • End date cannot exceed one year from the start date: make the series shorter.
