I do not see the disease from the alert. How do I answer?

Plan: Apisense PRO AI

Check the hive. Then fill in the form for the alert: Answer a few questions. When there is no symptom, answer No. The form does not close the alert. The alert ends by itself when the VitalSensor measurements show a healthy colony again.

How to fill in the form for a disease alert

  1. Open the alert: the hive screen, Hive state tab, Health card, disease row. Or: the apiary screen, Health tab, alert card.
  2. On the details screen, tap Answer a few questions.
  3. The A few questions about this colony screen shows the number of questions and the time. Tap Let's start.
  4. Answer each question with Yes, No or Skip. The next question depends on your answer.
  5. Optionally, tap Add photo/recording to add a photo or a video from the inspection.
  6. On the last question, tap Save.

You find the answers in the Answers tab on the details screen.

What the answers in the disease form mean

  • Yes: you see this symptom.
  • No: you checked and the symptom is not there.
  • Skip: you do not know, or you did not check.

The form has no "there is no disease" answer and no button that closes the alert. Answer No to the questions about symptoms. Your answers help us assess the alert.

When you think that the alert is false, write to bee@apisense.ai and give the name of the apiary and the hive. The Apisense team will check the alert and can close it.

How to edit or delete an answer in the disease form

  1. On the details screen, open the Answers tab.
  2. In the Answers from {date} row, tap the pencil to edit, or the bin to delete.

Rules:

  • You can edit an answer for 30 days. After this time the app shows The correction window for this answer has expired; submit a new answer instead.
  • You can fill in the same form again after 48 hours.
  • Only the person who filled in the answer, or the apiary owner, can change or delete it.

How to confirm or exclude a disease with an examination

The form is your observation. An examination gives certainty. For varroosis, you can do a sugar roll examination. For nosemosis, you can do a microscope examination. The instructions are in the Lab procedures. Write the result in a note to the hive. Participants in the research programme record the result in the Examinations tab.

When something does not work

  • You do not see the Answer a few questions button. Possible causes: the alert is completed, the Pro AI plan expired, or you have restricted access to the apiary.
  • The alert continues for a long time after you changed the VitalSensor or after the colony died: write to us, bee@apisense.ai.
