How to read a chart

Plan: Apisense PRO AI

The measurement charts are on the hive screen, in the Hive state tab. To see the value from a specific hour, open the chart in full screen and zoom in. The hours on the chart are in the time zone of the apiary.

How to open a chart

  1. Open the hive screen.
  2. Select the Hive state tab.
  3. Select the chart:
  4. Hive weight: tap the header of the Weight card. The card expands.
  5. Conditions: in the Conditions card, tap the row Outside temperature, Inside hive temperature, Humidity or Pressure. The chart shows below the row.

Time ranges

Above the chart, select the range: 24h, 7 d, 1 mo., 3 mo. or 6 mo. A range without data is not active. The weight chart opens on the 7 d range.

On the 24h range, the weight chart does not show weight events. You see the events from the 7 d range, because the Scale needs approximately one week of data to identify them.

The chart shows a maximum of the last 6 months. In full screen, you can move and zoom the chart only in the selected range, not further into the past. Apisense keeps older measurements, but the app does not show them. When you need them, write to bee@apisense.ai.

How to read the value from a specific hour

  1. Open the chart and select a range that includes this day, for example 1 mo.
  2. Tap the Fullscreen icon in the corner of the chart. On a phone in portrait position, the chart turns 90°.
  3. Zoom in: move two fingers apart or use the zoom buttons.
  4. Move the chart with your finger to the day and hour that you want.
  5. When you zoom in on a chart with a range of 7 days or more, the points separate. You see each single measurement.
  6. To go back to the full range, tap Reset zoom. To close the full screen, tap X.

Zoom works only in full screen.

Measurement time

The hours on the chart are in the time zone of the apiary. Remember this when you compare the chart with the time of an inspection, especially when the apiary is in a different time zone from you.

Trend line

Turn on Show trend. The chart shows two lines: Measurement and Trend. The trend shows the general direction of the changes: increase, decrease or a stable value. The trend ignores short changes.

Gaps in the chart

A gap between the points means that there were no measurements at that time. The app does not fill in the missing values. The article No data or a gap in the chart gives the causes.

Device replacement on the chart

When you replace the VitalSensor or the Scale in a hive, the chart shows a vertical line. Tap it to see Device replaced: with the device number and the date. The measurements of the former device are faded. The legend names them Former device · until with the date.

Good to know

  • The charts are in the Pro AI plan. After the Pro AI plan expires, the data after the plan end date is grey, and the app shows Current device data is available on the Pro AI plan.
  • In a web browser, the chart in full screen does not turn.
