Medicines and doses. What do we not advise on?

Apisense does not recommend medicine brands and does not give doses. Use the dose from the medicine leaflet. When you are not sure, ask a veterinarian.

What Apisense says about treatment

• The Recommendations for a disease alert and after a frame photo analysis are hints. They are not the advice of a veterinarian.
• You make the treatment decision, ideally after you check the hive.

Where to find the dose of a medicine

1. Read the medicine leaflet. The leaflet gives the dose, the method of use and the withdrawal period.
2. Use only medicines that are approved in your country.
3. When the leaflet does not answer your question, ask a veterinarian.

How to record a medicine in the app

Write the medicine name and the dose in a note to the hive or to the apiary. You can add a photo of the package or the leaflet. See How to record a treatment and check that it worked.

Good to know

• Do you ask about the dose for one hive, for example the number of strips? The answer is in the medicine leaflet.
• Do you ask if you can treat before the honey harvest? Check the withdrawal period in the leaflet or ask a veterinarian.
