How to delete an apiary or a hive¶
Plan: Apisense AI and Apisense PRO AI
You delete an apiary in Apiary settings and a hive in Hive settings. You cannot undo a delete in the app. When you delete an apiary, you also delete all its hives. The devices are released and you can add them to a different hive or apiary.
What you lose after you delete¶
- A deleted apiary goes from the app together with all its hives.
- A deleted hive goes from the app together with its tasks, notes, inspections and charts.
- The Hub, VitalSensor, Scale and ColonyLink are released. To use them again, scan their QR code in a different apiary or a different hive.
How to delete an apiary¶
- Open the apiary.
- Tap the three-dot menu and select Settings.
- At the bottom of the Apiary settings screen, tap the red Delete apiary button.
- In the Delete apiary? window, tap Yes, delete. No, keep it cancels.
Only the owner can delete an apiary. In a shared apiary, there is no such button.
How to delete a hive¶
- Open the hive.
- Tap the three-dot menu and select Settings.
- Tap Delete hive.
- In the Delete hive? window, tap Yes, delete.
The owner or a person with full access can delete a hive.
Before you delete¶
- The colony moved to another apiary? Do not delete the hive. Move it: see How to move a hive to another apiary. The history stays.
- You want to put a device in a different hive? Do not delete the hive. Use Move or Disconnect on the device card in Hive settings, Devices section. The measurement history stays in the old hive.
- The colony died? You can keep a hive without devices as a record of the history of this colony.
You cannot undo a delete. After you delete, you lose access to the apiary or the hive and to its data. Before you delete, make sure that you want to do it.
