LEDs, button and restart of the devices¶
The LEDs only confirm actions, for example the start or the start of charging. At all other times they are off, also during normal operation. The LEDs do not show the battery level, charging or errors. You check the state of the devices in the app. Only the Hub has a button.
How to switch on the devices¶
- The Hub switches on by itself when it gets energy: from the sun, from a USB-C charger or from an external 12 V charger.
- The VitalSensor and the Scale come with the batteries installed. They work immediately. They have no button.
Hub LEDs¶
The Hub button has two LEDs: blue and red.
- Blue flashes 3 times, then red 1 time: the Hub starts (after power-on or a restart).
- Blue flashes 1 time: the Hub woke up after a short press of the button.
- Blue flashes 2 times: the Hub starts to charge from a USB charger.
- Blue flashes 3 times (by itself): the Hub starts to charge from the solar panel.
- Blue flashes 4 times: the Hub starts to charge from an external 12 V charger.
- The LEDs are off: the Hub works normally or sleeps between measurements.
The LED shows only the start of charging. It does not show that charging continues or that the battery is full.
VitalSensor and Scale LEDs¶
The VitalSensor and the Scale have one LED each. You can see the VitalSensor LED through the housing. The Scale LED is in the black housing. You can see it only when the housing is open.
- Fast flashing for approximately 15 s after you put in the batteries: the device started.
- Slow flashing (approximately 1 time per second), for up to 2 minutes: the device had no connection to the Hub for a long time and looks for it again by itself.
- The LED is off: the device works normally.
Only the Hub has a red LED. It comes on one time in the start sequence. The assistant cannot read the LED from a photo. Describe how the LED flashes.
Hub button¶
The Hub reacts when you release the button. A very short touch does not work.
- Less than 3 s: the Hub wakes up.
- From 3 to 10 s: the Hub restarts. After the restart, you see the start sequence.
- More than 10 s: nothing happens. While you hold the button, the blue LED flashes slowly 3 times.
Restart and reset¶
- The Hub has no factory reset. It has only a restart: hold the button for 3 to 10 s.
- The VitalSensor and the Scale have no button and no reset.
- After the Hub was discharged, it does not need a restart. After charging, it starts to work again by itself and connects to the devices.
- After you replace the batteries in the VitalSensor or the Scale, do not restart the Hub.
- Do not switch off or restart the devices until the first data comes.
We do not recommend a Hub restart. During normal operation, a restart is not necessary. If the Hub does not work, see A device has no connection or write to bee@apisense.ai.
